Introducing WebP and HEIC file compatibility with PageProof

Names of common file types plus new file formats. EML, SVG, PDF, AI, PNG, DOC, TIFF. Introducing WebP and HEIC file.

There are multiple file types used globally, with new formats being added frequently. So we understand the frustration of not being able to send a certain type of file or sending it, but the receiver is unable to open it, without the right software.

Let’s take a look at some modern file types used by web developers and Apple device users:

Newer file types for images used by web designers or users on mobile phones result in better file size compression without impacting the quality of the image too severely.

Webp is a file format developed by Google to reduce the size of images without having to sacrifice quality for storage space. WebP images are designed to make the web faster, with smaller, richer photos for developers to use.

Heic is a high-efficiency image format that is native to iPhones and iPad. Heic takes up a fraction of the space of a traditional jpeg file – without losing any resolution!

Both are typically difficult for someone to open without associated software, so we’ve made it easy to upload these to PageProof for sharing with your team for review and attach to comments. Experience our innovative website proofing software — once you do, you’ll wonder how you managed without it.
